包头钢铁职业技术学院坐落于首批全国文明城市、美丽的草原钢城——包头市。学院始建于1956年,前身是国家“一五”期间为建设包钢而配套建设的技工学校和1979年包钢创建的包钢职工大学。2005年经教育部批准备案升格为公办全日制高等职业技术学院,至今已有69年职业教育和20年高职办学历史,同时挂内蒙古冶金技师学院、包钢卫校牌子。
Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College is located in Baotou, one of the first national civilized cities and the beautiful "Grassland Steel City". Founded in 1956, the college originated from the technical school built to support Baotou Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation during the national "First Five-Year Plan" period and Baotou Iron and Steel Staff University established by Baotou Iron and Steel Group in 1979.
