包头钢铁职业技术学院坐落于首批全国文明城市、美丽的草原钢城——包头市。学院始建于1956年，前身是国家“一五”期间为建设包钢而配套建设的技工学校和1979年包钢创建的包钢职工大学。2005年经教育部批准备案升格为公办全日制高等职业技术学院，至今已有69年职业教育和20年高职办学历史，同时挂内蒙古冶金技师学院、包钢卫校牌子。

Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College is located in Baotou, one of the first national civilized cities and the beautiful "Grassland Steel City". Founded in 1956, the college originated from the technical school built to support Baotou Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation during the national "First Five-Year Plan" period and Baotou Iron and Steel Staff University established by Baotou Iron and Steel Group in 1979. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2005, it was upgraded to a public full-time higher vocational college, boasting a 69-year history of vocational education and 20 years of higher vocational education. It also operates under the names Inner Mongolia Metallurgical Technician College and Baotou Iron and Steel Health School.

学院以技能人才培养为主体，集学历教育、公共实训、技师研修等功能于一体。现有3个校区，总占地407亩，在校生6498人，教职工330名，其中双师型教师占比达85%。开设28个专业，涵盖冶金、机电、计算机、新能源汽车等领域，拥有国家级技能大师工作室等实训基地，与200余家企业深度合作，毕业生就业去向落实率超93%，留蒙率70%以上，是区域产业升级的人才引擎。

The college focuses on cultivating skilled talents, integrating academic education, public training, and technician research. It has 3 campuses covering 407 mu, with 6,498 students and 330 faculty members, 85% of whom are "dual-qualified" teachers. Offering 28 majors in metallurgy, mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, new energy vehicles, etc., it features national-level skill master studios and training bases. Through in-depth cooperation with over 200 enterprises, the college achieves a graduate employment rate exceeding 93%, with over 70% remaining in Inner Mongolia, serving as a talent engine for regional industrial upgrading.
