常州工学院是一所全日制公办普通本科高校，坐落在经济发达、文教昌盛、交通便捷、美丽富饶的国家历史文化名城——常州。学校前身为创建于1978年的常州市七·二一工业大学，历经常州职业大学、常州工业技术学院等发展阶段，2000年经教育部批准升格为本科层次的常州工学院，2003年常州师范专科学校（筹）成建制并入，2024年获批成为硕士学位授予单位。学校现有辽河路校区、会馆浜路继续教育学院和长江路科技产业园，总占地面积近1500亩，建筑面积60万平方米；设有20个教学单位，58个本科专业，面向全国20多个省（市、自治区）招生，普通全日制在校生18249人。

Changzhou Institute of Technology is a full-time public ordinary undergraduate university located in Changzhou, a nationally renowned historical and cultural city known for its developed economy, prosperous education and culture, convenient transportation, and rich resources. Founded in 1978 as Changzhou July 21st Industrial University, the university has evolved through stages including Changzhou Vocational University and Changzhou Institute of Industrial Technology. In 2000, it was upgraded to Changzhou Institute of Technology at the undergraduate level with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2003, the preparatory Changzhou Teachers College was incorporated into the university, and in 2024, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit. The university currently has three campuses: Liaohe Road Campus, Huiguanbang Road Continuing Education College, and Changjiang Road Science and Technology Industrial Park, covering a total area of nearly 1500 mu with a building area of 600,000 square meters. It has 20 teaching units offering 58 undergraduate programs, enrolling students from over 20 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, with 18,249 full-time undergraduates.

学校坚持以工科为特色，理工、教育人文、经济管理等多学科协调发展，拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点9个、省高校一流本科专业建设点19个，6个专业通过国际工程教育专业认证。在职教职工1441人，其中专任教师1134人，具有博士学位教师664人（占比58.6%），高级职称教师542人。近年来获批国家级科研项目87项，横向科研到账经费超7亿元，建有省部级科研平台34个，荣获中国产学研合作示范基地称号，为社会培养输送了10余万名高素质应用型人才。

The university adheres to engineering as its特色, with coordinated development of multiple disciplines including science and engineering, education and humanities, economics and management. It has 9 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 19 provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, and 6 programs accredited by international engineering education. There are 1,441 faculty members, including 1,134 full-time teachers, 664 with doctoral degrees (accounting for 58.6%), and 542 with senior professional titles. In recent years, it has obtained 87 national-level scientific research projects, with over 700 million yuan in horizontal research funding, and established 34 provincial and ministerial-level research platforms. It has been awarded the title of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Demonstration Base and has cultivated over 100,000 high-quality applied talents for society.
