华中科技大学是国家教育部直属重点综合性大学，由原华中理工大学、同济医科大学、武汉城市建设学院于2000年5月26日合并成立，是国家“211工程”“985工程”重点建设高校，首批“双一流”建设高校。学校坐落于湖北省武汉市，校园占地7000余亩，被誉为“森林式大学”。

Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It was established on May 26, 2000, through the merger of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Medical University, and Wuhan Urban Construction Institute. It is a key university under the "211 Project" and "985 Project", and one of the first batch of universities listed in the "Double First-Class" initiative. Located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, the university covers an area of more than 7,000 mu and is known as a "forest-style university".

学校学科门类齐全、结构合理，涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、理学、工学、医学、管理学、艺术学等10大学科门类，设有109个本科专业，拥有一级学科国家重点学科7个，二级学科国家重点学科15个（内科学、外科学按三级计），国家重点（培育）学科7个。

The university has a complete range of disciplines with a reasonable structure, covering 10 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art. It offers 109 undergraduate programs, with 7 national key first-level disciplines, 15 national key second-level disciplines (internal medicine and surgery are counted at the third level), and 7 national key (cultivation) disciplines.

学校师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师3700余人，其中中国科学院院士18人，中国工程院院士21人，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者133人，教育部“长江学者奖励计划”入选者139人。学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，培养了大批德才兼备、具有国际视野和创新精神的优秀人才。

HUST boasts a strong faculty, with over 3,700 full-time teachers, including 18 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 21 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 133 recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and 139 selected scholars of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of Education.
