上海工商职业技术学院创办于1985年，前身为上海工商学院，历经多次合并与更名，2014年正式定名为上海工商职业技术学院。作为上海市首批独立设置的全日制民办非营利性高职院校，学校由统战系统社会团体及民主党派共同举办，现有嘉定、青浦两个校区，占地330余亩，在校生8000余名。

Shanghai Business and Technology College was founded in 1985, formerly known as Shanghai Business College. After several mergers and name changes, it was officially renamed Shanghai Business and Technology College in 2014. As one of the first full-time private non-profit higher vocational colleges independently established in Shanghai, the college is co-sponsored by social organizations of the united front system and democratic parties. It has two campuses in Jiading and Qingpu, covering an area of more than 330 mu, with over 8,000 students.

学校设有11个二级学院，开设27个高职专业，其中国家骨干建设专业4个，市级高水平专业群3个，形成以工为主、文商两翼的专业布局。师资力量雄厚，专任教师中硕士及以上占比56%，双师素质教师占比65%，拥有上海市技能大师工作室等多个教学平台。近年来荣获上海市文明校园、征兵工作先进单位等多项荣誉，2025年软科民办高职排名跻身全国10强。

The college has 11 secondary colleges and offers 27 higher vocational majors, including 4 national key construction majors and 3 municipal high-level professional groups, forming a professional layout with engineering as the main focus and liberal arts and business as the two wings. It has a strong faculty, with 56% of full-time teachers holding master's degrees or above and 65% being double-qualified teachers. It also has multiple teaching platforms such as Shanghai Skill Master Studio. In recent years, it has won many honors such as Shanghai Civilized Campus and Advanced Unit in Conscription Work, and ranked among the top 10 national private higher vocational colleges in the 2025 Soft Science Private Higher Vocational Rankings.

学校注重产教融合与国际交流，建有7个校企共建产业学院，与10余个国家及地区的30余所院校建立合作关系，2023年获批设立马耳他国际学院。秉持“求真求是、守信踏实”的校训，聚焦区域产业需求，培养具备理想素养、知识技能、创新创业能力的高技能人才。

The college focuses on industry-education integration and international exchanges, has established 7 industry colleges co-built with enterprises, and has established cooperative relations with more than 30 institutions in more than 10 countries and regions. In 2023, it was approved to establish the Malta International College. Upholding the school motto of "Seeking Truth and Facts, Being Trustworthy and Down-to-Earth", it focuses on regional industrial needs and cultivates high-skilled talents with ideal literacy, knowledge and skills, and innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities.
