甘肃畜牧工程职业技术学院是2004年6月经甘肃省人民政府批准，由始建于1952年的原甘肃省畜牧学校和始建于1958年的原甘肃省农业机械化学校两所国家级重点中专合并组建的专科层次普通高等学校，2025年7月甘肃省理工中等专业学校并入。学院是全国乡村振兴人才培养优质校、甘肃省示范性高等职业院校、甘肃省优质高等职业院校、甘肃省“双高计划”建设院校，隶属甘肃省教育厅。

Gansu Polytechnic College of Animal Husbandry & Engineering is a public higher vocational college approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government in June 2004. It was formed by the merger of the former Gansu Animal Husbandry School (founded in 1952) and the former Gansu Agricultural Mechanization School (founded in 1958), both of which were national key secondary technical schools. In July 2025, Gansu Polytechnic Secondary School was incorporated into the college. It is a national high-quality school for rural revitalization talent training, a Gansu Provincial Demonstrative Higher Vocational College, a Gansu Provincial High-quality Higher Vocational College, and a construction college of Gansu Province's "Double High Plan", affiliated to the Gansu Provincial Department of Education.

学院现有武威天马湖校区、黄羊东校区、黄羊西校区三个校区，占地2210亩，校舍建筑面积23.25万平方米，固定资产5.17亿多元，其中教学仪器设备总值1.39亿多元。设有畜牧科技学院、兽医科技学院等8个二级学院，开设畜牧兽医（宠物）、食品药品、机械与电子等9大专业类群41个专业。教职工473人，其中教授32人、副教授145人，硕士、博士191人，“双师型”教师260人；全日制在校学生11000人。

The college currently has three campuses: Tianma Lake Campus, Huangyang East Campus, and Huangyang West Campus, covering an area of 2210 mu (about 1.47 square kilometers) with a building area of 232,500 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is over 517 million yuan, including teaching instruments and equipment worth more than 139 million yuan. It has 8 secondary colleges such as the College of Animal Husbandry Science and Technology and the College of Veterinary Science and Technology, offering 41 majors in 9 professional groups including animal husbandry and veterinary medicine (pets), food and medicine, machinery and electronics. The college has 473 faculty members, including 32 professors, 145 associate professors, 191 masters and doctors, and 260 "double-qualified" teachers, with 11,000 full-time students.
