The Lebanese University (Arabic: الجامعة اللبنانية, French: Université Libanaise), founded in 1951, is the only public higher education institution in Lebanon, with its main campus in Beirut and a branch campus in Hadath. As one of the largest comprehensive universities in Lebanon, it offers undergraduate and graduate education in multiple disciplines, including humanities and social sciences, science and engineering, medicine, and arts, with over 45,000 students enrolled in co-educational programs.

Renowned for its multicultural integration and academic inclusivity, the university uses Arabic, French, and English as teaching languages, aiming to cultivate professionals with a global perspective. In 2015, the Language and Translation Center of the Lebanese University established a Chinese language program, making it one of the earliest public universities in the Middle East to offer Chinese language education, thus building an important platform for Sino-Lebanese cultural exchange and talent development. In the 2021 QS World University Rankings, it was ranked in the 701-750 range, serving as a core component of Lebanon's higher education system.
