伊犁职业技术学院是教育部备案设立的一所全日制公办普通高等职业院校，坐落在素有“塞外江南”美誉的伊犁河谷、伊犁哈萨克自治州首府——伊宁市，以培养高素质技术技能型人才为主，承立德树人之使命，育品正技强之英才。学院前身是1955年建校的原新疆维吾尔自治区重点中专学校——伊犁农业学校、1956年建校的原国家农业部重点中等专业学校——新疆伊犁畜牧兽医学校和1965年建校的原伊犁州重点中专学校——伊犁农牧机械化学校，于2002年3月合并升格成立。2019年2月伊犁州体育运动学校整体并入，2023年7月伊宁卫校整体并入，形成现有规模。目前学校总占地面积约1030亩，现有东、西、北、南4个校区，设有9个直属教学机构和8个职能机构。

Yili Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college registered with the Ministry of Education. It is located in Yining City, the capital of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in the Ili River Valley, known as the "Jiangnan beyond the Great Wall". The college is mainly engaged in cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents, undertaking the mission of fostering virtue through education and nurturing talents with integrity and strong skills. Its predecessors were Ili Agricultural School (a key secondary vocational school in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region founded in 1955), Xinjiang Ili Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School (a key secondary vocational school of the former Ministry of Agriculture founded in 1956), and Ili Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Mechanization School (a key secondary vocational school of Ili Prefecture founded in 1965). These three schools merged and were upgraded to establish Yili Vocational and Technical College in March 2002. In February 2019, Ili Prefecture Sports School was fully merged into the college, and in July 2023, Yining Health School was also fully merged, forming the current scale. At present, the total campus area is about 1030 mu, with 4 campuses (East, West, North, and South), 9 directly affiliated teaching institutions, and 8 functional departments.

作为伊犁高等职业教育事业的开创者、孕育者和引领者，学院始终以稳疆兴疆、富民固边、接续服务乡村振兴、服务经济社会为己任，培养高素质技术技能型人才。68年来，学院秉承“品正技强”的校训，弘扬“文明、乐学、求实、向上”的校风、“敬业、爱生、善导、奉献”的教风和“刻苦、主动、勤思、进取”的学风，为新疆社会经济建设培养了数以万计的各类高等专门人才。学院现有在编在职教职工716人，其中专业技术人员618人，专职教练员30人；专任教师中具有博士、硕士学位的占33.7%，有教授14人、副教授113人，以及享受国务院特殊津贴专家、国家万人计划教学名师等一批高层次人才。目前有在校生15635余人。

As a pioneer, nurturer, and leader in higher vocational education in Ili, the college has always been committed to stabilizing and developing Xinjiang, enriching the people and consolidating the border, continuing to serve rural revitalization, and serving the economy and society, cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents. Over the past 68 years, adhering to the school motto of "Integrity and Strong Skills", and promoting the school spirit of "Civilization, Eagerness to Learn, Seeking Truth, and Progress", the teaching style of "Dedication, Love for Students, Good Guidance, and Dedication", and the learning style of "Diligence, Initiative, Thoughtfulness, and Enterprise", the college has cultivated tens of thousands of various high-level professionals for Xinjiang's social and economic development. Currently, there are 716 in-service faculty members, including 618 professional and technical personnel and 30 full-time coaches. Among the full-time teachers, 33.7% have doctoral or master's degrees, with 14 professors, 113 associate professors, and a group of high-level talents such as experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council and national teaching masters of the "Ten Thousand Talents Program". There are currently more than 15,635 students.

学院积极构建与伊犁州直支柱产业相适应的“一体（农牧类）两翼（加工制造类、现代服务类）”专业体系，开设有植物保护、畜牧兽医、动物防疫与检疫、园艺技术、设施农业与装备、电气自动化技术、机电设备技术、现代物流管理、旅游管理、计算机网络技术、运动训练、护理、医学检验技术等1个“3+2”应用型本科专业、48个高职专业和19个中职专业，是教育部第二批现代学徒制试点学校。拥有畜牧兽医、园艺技术和植物保护与检疫3个自治区级特色专业，护理和医学检验技术2个自治区精品专业，医学检验技术1个自治区品牌专业，以及14门自治区级精品课程。学院建有较高质量的实践教学体系，拥有新疆褐牛研究所、伊犁马研究所等18个创新平台，校内实训基地20个，校外实训基地180余个，各类实验（训）室171个，致力于打造支撑区域经济发展的高素质复合型技术技能人才培养高地。

The college has actively built a professional system of "One Body (agriculture and animal husbandry) and Two Wings (processing and manufacturing, modern services)" that adapts to the pillar industries of Ili Prefecture. It offers 1 "3+2" applied undergraduate program, 48 higher vocational programs, and 19 secondary vocational programs, including Plant Protection, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Animal Epidemic Prevention and Quarantine, Horticultural Technology, Protected Agriculture and Equipment, Electrical Automation Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Technology, Modern Logistics Management, Tourism Management, Computer Network Technology, Sports Training, Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Technology. It is the second batch of pilot schools for modern apprenticeship education approved by the Ministry of Education. The college has 3 autonomous region-level characteristic majors (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Horticultural Technology, and Plant Protection and Quarantine), 2 autonomous region-level excellent majors (Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology), 1 autonomous region-level brand major (Medical Laboratory Technology), and 14 autonomous region-level excellent courses. It has established a high-quality practical teaching system, with 18 innovation platforms such as the Xinjiang Brown Cattle Research Institute and the Ili Horse Research Institute, 20 on-campus training bases, more than 180 off-campus training bases, and 171 various laboratories (training rooms), committed to building a highland for cultivating high-quality compound technical and skilled talents to support regional economic development.
